777777777777’s “Brown eye” is some half nu-metalish, rockish effort with a vocalist who’s got a little of the late Layne Staley in him (and I don’t mean that in a gay, necrophiliac kind of way). While everything about this band (moniker, album title, album cover etc etc) is speaking volumes against them, they are actually a hella lot more decent than you’d ever think. While not having the fattest production around since “Stabbing the penis” by Soilwork, the somewhat muddy sound picture at least works, though it leaves alot to wish for. I am still surprised of the quality that 777777’s offering up here and if they step it up production wise on the next effort (and change their band name) they might actually get out of Amateurville to pursue bigger and better things. But the biggest upside of all of this is that they are actually from the U.K., and they don’t fucken suck it.

After going thru that crap, you most likely wanna read something way more interesting. You do, admit it.
